This one was interesting. I did a lot of back and forth between loving this story and thinking maybe it’s not for me.
There were certain parts I really, really enjoyed, and others where I was just kind of “meh.” The dryness just kind of wore on me, but then I’d love it, and then it’d wear on me? I repeat myself, but my opinion was a rollercoaster in the 3ish hours of listening to this one.
I do get the attraction, but I think I’m going to shelve this series, and come back to it when I’m looking for a brief interlude between other audiobooks. The length, and quirkiness, seem to make that a perfect fit, and I am interested in finishing it, just not right now.
I haven’t fully decided yet, but my next audiobook might be a classic of some sort (Dracula? Treasure Island? Sherlock? Journey to the Center of the Earth?), and I’m currently reading Isaac Laquedem by Alexandre Dumas.
Highlights
I was listening to the audio feed piped directly into my ears while pretending to watch Sanctuary Moon.
Stopping to make visual annotations or bookmark audio timestamps would mean interacting with a user interface, which increases the likelihood of a human noticing my governor module is hacked.
The idea of not having any highlights made me drop to 97% efficiency.
