I’ve never done an audiobook on its own before, and this one did it for me.
The narrator (Jeff Hays) does an amazing job of bringing the world to life. I feel like I’ve broken myself for future audiobooks by listening to this guy on my first audiobook adventure. The humor is spot on and had me laughing more times than I can count. The whole thing is just a really fun, ridiculous story that’s perfect for when you need a break.
I’ve also played a ton of dungeon crawler games, RPGs, etc, so apparently this genre fits my tastes very well.
What really impressed me, though, was my consistent desire to keep listening. I found myself actively looking forward to turning the audiobook on, eager to know what happens next. If you like gaming (RPGs, specifically), considering trying audiobooks, or just need a dose of fun and escapism, this is an absolute must-listen. Highly recommended!
