I blame my bestie @GlitterXplosion (also on Twitch) for this one. She officially owes me a Dungeon Crawler Carl listen now, so it was worth it!
The Graphic Audio presentation is great. It’s a very immersive listen, and the narrator and cast is awesome. Dain seems like such a loser, and Zayden (or Xayden, or Sayden, or Ayden, or Brayden, or Kayden, or Cayden, or whatever) is pretty douchey, and the voice in the audiobook makes him even douchier, but I guess I get it.
The storyline and world building is decent enough, and the twist at the end was solid enough, that I’ll probably pick up Iron Flame (the second book in The Empyrean Series) and give it a listen as well, but it won’t be my next listen. I don’t think I’m the target audience for this series, but it was good.
Now that I’m finding times to incorporate them into my routine, I think I’m becoming an audiobook fan!
